The original StarCraft’s strongest feature was the integration of three distinct races into one game. This allowed for three complete different approaches to the game as well as three different campaigns. StarCraft 2 will continue that tradition with fresh game play across all three campaigns. StarCraft 2 art director Sam Didier said that Blizzard will have few tricks up its sleeve to keep the game play fresh across all three campaigns.
In an interview at BlizzCon, Didier stated that two follow up to the Wings of Liberty will feature different units and unique missions. He said that prior campaign will have effect on the follow up expansions. He said “We're going to go back to the same planets. My hope is that we can affect those planets somehow, so if you're on Korhol in Wings of Liberty, when you return in the Zerg campaign or the Protoss, I want something radical to have happened to it or changed, whether a change in leadership or some 'Cataclysmic' event.” I hope there are lot more contents and missions if Blizzard is going to charge a lot for each expansions.
